Description

Length 75 min
Jamaican children present their country in ways that allow us to observe and consider geographical concepts and issues. Many aspects of everyday life in the towns of Kingston and Port Antonio are shown, including the market and harbour where bananas are sold and transported. Water is the focus in the Blue Mountains where high rainfall means crops and rainforests grow in abundance. Animal habitats around the island' shores are visited and their futures considered, including the crocodiles and mangroves of Black River and the coral reefs of the North Coast. Each programme shows a variety of images from this colourful island with which Britain has had links for the past 350 years.
