Series for young children looking at what happens on farms.
1 - Sheep and Making Honey - Storm visits a farm in the Lake District to learn all about Herdwick sheep with Shepherd James. JB meets some young gardeners to see what they grow and plant in their very special school garden. JB also shows viewers around his own farm including his livestock, the animals he keeps on his farm. Storm shares the Down on the Farm summer poem, plus Farmer Mark explains how honey is made, thanks to some very clever bees.
2 - Cows and Picking Strawberries - Storm visits a dairy farm to find out how cows are milked with Farmer Robert. She also joins a school group at the Royal Highlands Show. JB meets Farmer Charlie, who shows him what he makes with strawberries from his farm. JB shares the second verse of Down on the Farm's summer poem, and the programme also finds out how seaweed is harvested.
3 - Sheep Shearing and Picking Blackberries - Storm visits a family farm in the Lake District to learn about how sheep are sheared with Shepherd James. We follow a school group on their nature trail. JB finds out how to pick your own fruit and vegetables and shares the third verse of Down on the Farm's summer poem. And we meet Farmer Allen, who grows blackberries on his farm.
4 - Farm Park and Apple Crisps - Storm visits a family farm and learns how broccoli is harvested. JB meets a group of school children who help out at a farm park. JB also discovers how apple crisps are made with Farmer Charlie and shares the final verse of Down on the Farm's summer poem. Plus find out how flour is made from wheat.
5 - Tamworth Pigs and Picking Peas - Storm visits a wool factory to find out how sheep's fleece is turned into a ball of wool and meets some young gardeners at a growing project. JB tells us all about his Tamworth pigs on his farm. Both JB and Storm share the Down on the Farm summer poem, plus find out how peas are grown and picked.
6 - Lambs and Sowing the Seeds - Storm visits a farm in Wales to meet some spring lambs, and JB meets young gardeners to see what they grow and plant in their very special school garden. JB also sees how farmers prepare the fields so new seeds to be sown. Storm shares a Down on the Farm spring poem, and we find out how rhubarb is farmed.
7 - Sheepdogs and Tractors - Storm meets some very special sheepdogs and a young gardener at a local gardening project. JB learns all about tractors and even gets to drive one! JB shares a new Down on the Farm spring poem, and we also find out what we can harvest from the sea bed.
8 - Calving and Asparagus - Storm visits a family farm in Herefordshire to learn about the tasty treat, asparagus. We follow a group of children as they plant trees at a special event. JB finds out from farmer Jimi about calving and shares a new Down on the Farm spring poem. We also find out how oil is made from plants.
9 - Carrots and Alpacas - Storm visits a family farm and learns how carrots are harvested. JB heads to a spring farmers' market and sees all the seasonal produce. JB also discovers how alpacas provide wool, just like a sheep, and gets to take one for a walk. Storm shares a new spring poem and we find out how flour is made from wheat.
10 - Horse Logging and Daffodils - Storm visits Crunchy and his team of horses. Together, they work in the woods as horse loggers. She also joins a school group as they visit a very special farm. JB explores a watercress farm and shares a spring poem. Plus how daffodils are grown and picked.
11 - Cheese and Fish - Storm takes a trip to a family farm in Lincolnshire to find out how blue cheese is made. JB goes out to sea on a fishing boat to see how fish are caught and also shares an autumn poem. Plus, a look at the children who are helping to strengthen the soil in their community garden in Glasgow. And there is a visit to the Isle of Wight to learn how garlic is planted.
12 - Goats and Plum Jam - Storm goes to a farm in Yorkshire to find out all about goats. She also visits a big autumn show to see how harvest time is celebrated and to see some amazing fruit and vegetables. JB gets busy picking juicy plums and finds out what we can do to make them last all year round. JB shares an autumn poem, and we go to Cornwall to find out how sea salt is made from sea water.
13 - Liquorice and Olives - Storm visits Pontefract in Yorkshire to find out how liquorice is harvested and then makes some yummy liquorice sweets. JB discovers how to grow and look after olives and also goes to a special farm in Staffordshire to help some children look after the animals. Storm shares an autumn poem and we take a trip to the Isle of Wight to learn all about beetroot.
14 - Christmas Special - Storm meets Farmer Billy and learns all about brussel sprouts - a very festive vegetable! Both Storm and JB visit a very special family-run farm and share the Down on the Farm festive poem. JB discovers how Christmas trees are grown with Farmer Clive, and we find out about mistletoe and holly.
