What better way to encourage reading for pleasure in your school, than by having a top-quality author or illustrator enthuse and motivate your pupils about the joy of reading?
Meeting an author, illustrator, poet or storyteller, even virtually, and hearing them convey their passion for their work can fundamentally alter a child or young person’s relationship to books and help ignite a life-long love of reading.
“We cannot overstate how important author visits are for sparking a love of reading and writing in children that will ignite their imaginations, enhance their wellbeing and transform their life chances.” Jonathon Douglas, Director, The National Literacy Trust
Learning Resources Hub (LRH) are delighted to be offering all primary and special schools access to a range of virtual author events, with wonderful authors and illustrators
What to expect at our events
Each event will be different as our authors have different styles. We have one event for your Early Years and Reception children, a second for your Key Stage 1 pupils and a third for the Key Stage 2 pupils.
Our events are live and we also record them. After the event we send you a link to the recording. This lets you watch it again, or at a time more suitable if you couldn’t make the live event.
All our events are interactive and children can ask questions at the end.
