Description

Easy to use microscopes, where, instead of looking through an eyepiece the magnified image is displayed on a computer monitor via a USB connection.

Use as a hand-held device or attached to the flexible neck holder. Simply twist the dial on the microscope to magnify and press a button to take snap shot images.

Featuring 60x and 250x duo focal points and 4 LEDs with adjustable intensity. The Big Jurassic Classroom Rock Box

Contents: 

These boxes have been kindly given to us by The Primary Science Teaching Trust and Jurassic Coast Trust who have worked together to develop resources that teachers can use in their classrooms and local environments to inspire interest in the UK’s geological history. Primarily aimed at Y3 in the UK curriculum, the resources are also useful for evolution in Y6, plus dinosaurs in KS1.

The box contains:

  • Samples of 6 rock types: Chalk, Limestone, Sandstone, Slate, Granite and Marble and some fossils (eg. ammonite/ belemnites)
  • A copy of the Teacher Guide and supporting materials eg ID cards for the rocks and fossils, Rocks Family Tree, Geological map of the UK, A Branch sorting key and a possible Learning Journey
  • A magnifying glass
  • A Grain measure

The Teacher Guide includes exciting activities for learning about rocks, fossils and evolution. Description

The Renewable Energy Kit demonstrates the production of electricity using solar, water and wind power - all renewable sources of energy. Relevant to the Science and Geography National Curriculum for KS2 and above. The kit is large enough for whole class demonstration.

It is can be quickly assembled and is easy to use and demonstrate.

The kit comes with four dials, a meter, a siren, flashing lights, and moving cogs to demonstrate possible effects of power generation. 

In the classroom the teacher can use a fan or light source to replicate the wind and/or sun. In addition to demonstrating the generation of electricity using renewable sources, teachers can use the kit to discuss the environmental issues associated with these forms of energy production.
